THE ORIGIN OF 17TH CENTURY ,INDIA
A primitive type of embellishment intricately designed by needlework, sewn onto a cloth ground material. This technique is also known as mirror embroidery and it is one of the most popular embroidery work in parts of Asia known as abhla bharat. Shisha embroidery is older and dates back to more than 1000 years during the mughal era. But it started getting popularity in 17th century. Initially mica was used as shisha, beetle wings were also used as embellishment. Later on, it got replaced with silver, silica, tin and coins.
